Duchamp’s contribution to our culture, of course, cannot be overstated. His concerns surrounding the consciousness behind a creative act, the dynamics of thought and action fundamentally changed the way we think about human activity by drawing attention to the fact that it is the intention and context underlying an action that informs it with meaning.
